It is Halloween night and while some went out Tuesday night, most kids will hit the streets on October 31st for trick or treating across the QCA.
It's been two years since a mom was killed by drunk driver in Moline while trick or treating with her son.
The Red Cross wants to make sure an accident like that doesn't happen again.
"We get so excited about the costumes and the candy, and the tradition, what we really want to think about is safety," says Kasey Kelly, American Red Cross. "Halloween is such a fun holiday we don't want accidents to happen. We don't want for that to be what you remember about Halloween."
Some tips to stay safe and make you and your family more visible to cars is by putting reflectors on kids costumes or their trick or treat bags.
Flashlights and glow sticks can help as well.
It's also important to be aware of any traffic.
"Stay on the sidewalks," Kelly adds. "Don't come out between parked cars and really be aware of your surroundings."
Drivers should also take it easy on the road and be alert for anything that could happen.
There will be a parade in Davenport Wednesday starting at 7 p.m. You can view the parade route on the left side of the screen.
