Candidates for Illinois' 17th Congressional District faced off in Peoria Thursday night.  Where they talked about how they would represent such a large district.

"This is about getting to know people and really seeing what's important to them, I think we've done quite a bit of that through out our time coming back and forth through the area," said Rep. Bobby Schilling.

This was Republican incumbent Bobby Schilling and Democratic challenger Cheri Bustos' second debate.  The race is highly contested, as the 17th district is newly redrawn.  It includes the Quad Cities and a big chunk of the CBS4 viewing area.  Cheri Bustos said she would represent the 14 county district by having multiple offices in the area.

"The offices in those respective cities that I refer to would be staffed by people from, for instance Peoria, Rockford, and the Quad Cities and they will reflect the makeup of those communities and I think that's very important," said Cheri Bustos.

Their first debate was earlier this month in the Quad Cities.
