Some unemployed Quad Citians are getting support from a local congressional candidate.
Cheri Bustos met with former Honeywell workers Tuesday, whose jobs were shipped to China last year.
The group got together in Douglas Park where workers talked about what it was like when 245 jobs were lost in Rock Island. One former worker says after more than a decade on the job, she can't believe she was just let go.
"No matter if you have three years in or almost like 14, or even if you have 1 year," says Linda Housby, a former Honeywell worker. "There's no job security anymore."
Honeywell, which was formerly known as Norcross, made the decision to ship the jobs overseas shortly after buying out the company.
