Last month Mid-American announced that Muscatine County is one of two possible sites for a nuclear plant in Iowa. Tonight (10/23) at 6:30p.m. they are hosting a public meeting at the McAvoy University Center on the Muscatine Community College campus.
Tonight the public can hear how nuclear power compares to alternative energy options, plus information about how the plant would be paid for in advance by increased utility rates.
A group out of Des Moines, The Iowa Public Interest Research Group, with sponsorship from the Iowa Renewable Energy Jobs 2020 Coalition says Iowa has better energy options.
