UPDATE:
We now know the names of the two men who died in a boating accident yesterday.
The bodies of David Slater of Davenport and Thomas Trainer of Canton were found early Saturday morning.
The accident happened around 6 o'clock when the boat the two men and five of their friends were in hit a buoy and flipped over.
It happened on Shady Creek in Muscatine.
The other five on the boat are seriously injured and were airlifted to University of Iowa hospitals.
When David Rock got the call that his father was in critical condition, he and his family were shocked.
"He's really safe. We couldn't get it out of our minds this morning of what happened," says David rock, the son in law of boat owner, Danny Kirk.
Danny Kirk has been duck hunting for years,
So on the first day of the season, he took some family members and friends out on his boat at Shady Creek.
But no body ever expected that two people on the boat would never return.
"We still can't figure it out. It had to be a freak accident because he's usually the safest guy ever," says rock.
Right now, the five who were rescued are being treated at a hospital in Iowa City.
David Rock says his father in law will never be the same.
"He just is not going to be himself no more. That's his buddies and that's all he worries about are his buddies," says Rock.
The accident is still under investigation by the Illinois DNR.
