Folks in the QC are learning first hand what it's like to be homeless.
More than fifty Quad Citians are baring the storm and
Sleeping outside tonight at Modern Woodmen Park.
The sleep out is to raise funds for Davenport's Humility of Mary shelter.
The night is dedicated to reminding the community that some folks don't have a place to call home.
"If you were homeless and the shelter was not open or if we were at capacity and you couldn't come in, this is what you would literally be sleeping in. and it gets worse than this, so its just mother nature's way of adding her two sense and saying yep this is reality for folks," says Melanie Jones, Humility of Mary shelter.
Folks will be at Modern Woodmen all night until the closing ceremony tomorrow morning at 8 a.m.
