W.I.U. Quad Cities students got a very special visitor today.
Dr. Arun Gandhi, the grandson of Mahatma Gandhi, spoke as part of the university's War and Peace theme series. Gandhi is a journalist in India and a fierce advocate for non–violence. His speeches focused on how to use the philosophy of peace in everyday life, all around the world.
"What we need to do is to be more compassionate," Dr. Gandhi said, "and understanding towards other countries and help them overcome their difficulties."
Dr. Gandhi says he lived with his grandfather for a while growing up and he greatly influenced his philosophy.
