East Moline one step closer to new water tower

East Moline will soon be getting a new water tower.  Monday night city leaders accepted a bid for nearly $1,799,000 from contractor, Caldwell Tanks.  But, the full council will have the final say on wether or not to go forward with the project.  They'll vote during their next meeting on November 5th.  Mayor Thodos said the current tower is becoming a safety hazard and just has to come down.
