Ballet Quad Cities held a "Bowling to Banish Bullying" fundraiser tonight.
Folks came to the Blackhawk Hotel to bowl and support a good cause.
The fundraiser supports the ballet's bullying prevention program.
The ballet does a performance of "The Ugly Duckling" for first graders across the Quad Cities.
Through dance, kids come out with a message of acceptance.
"When they see that ugly duckling on stage, and she has been bullied and hurt and she has to leave her home, and children are beginning to really feel empathy," said Joedy Cook, executive director of the Ballet Quad Cities.
Last year the ballet's anti bullying program reached over 8,000 students.
