The pouring rain didn't stop the forty nine races that took place today.
Men's, women's and mixed teams competed in doubles, quads, and eight–person rowing events.
Some of the rowers said they weren't used to rowing in the rain because in bad weather they normally row in indoor pools.
Folks from Augustana said they lost grip of the ores because it was so wet.
Rowers from the University of Illinois said they were freezing, but it won't stop them from rowing to win.
They were last year's champions and they say they want to take the title again this year.
"The weather's terrible. But as long as it doesn't lightening, we'll keep rowing and actually the college kids, I think they are all into it. When you're rowing, you're pretty warm," says Dale Howard, the Regatta Chairman.
Tomorrow, you can watch the races at the Sylvan Boathouse on 17th street in Moline behind Stoney Creek Inn.
