Davenport city leaders vote to keep the Halloween celebration on October 30th.
Since 1946, Davenport has welcomed trick or treaters on October 30th.
But after some parents complained, the city considered changing the Halloween celebration to the 31st.
"I did not like having trick or treating on a different night than Halloween.
As it is now, kids from all over the QC come into Davenport on the 30th to trick or treat...but then the little ones want to go back out the next night
"I thought it was kind of a hassle for parents and residents of davenport to have to be prepared to deal with both nights because kids come from all over now to trick or treat," says Cathy Bolkcom, a QC Resident.
But Mom, Georgia Riendau disagrees.
She says it's no big deal to trick or treat on two nights and buy enough candy for all the kiddies.
"Its fun watching all the kids come over and that way they can enjoy the parade the next day," says Georgia Riendaeu.
Bob Cunningham on the other hand doesn't think the city shouldn't be the one telling kids when they can or can't trick or treat.
"If kids want to trick or treat on 2 nights, that's pretty much up to the parents if they take them out," says Bob Cunningham.
