For the second time in a month a mystery odor has caused some problems in Davenport. Around ten on Monday morning the smell of natural gas spread across the city, moving from south to north.
Several employees at Genesis West felt ill and left the hospital. Students from North High, Harrison Elementary, and the Kimberly Center evacuated their buildings for about twenty minutes until the smell dispersed.
The Davenport Fire Department investigated and did not find any indication of abnormal levels of gas in the area. MidAmerican Energy is investigating the source of the odor.
