Construction on the I-74 Bridge is still far away, but businesses in its proposed path are already getting the boot.
One family owned business in Moline is turning the state's order into an opportunity. Trimble Funeral Home has been on 6th Street for decades, but now the states saying they have to pack up. And as hard as moving is for President, Eric Trimble, he says he understands that the bridge needs to be rebuilt.
The family is seeing the silver lining in the move, using it as a chance to be much more than a funeral home. They're going to transform a vacant lot on 12th Street into not only a funeral home and crematory, but a new reception center, called City View.
Eric says City View won't just be for funeral receptions, but could be used for anything from birthdays to anniversaries. Trimble Point is hoping to have their new building up and running by this time next year.
