She says it's beautiful, but Buffalo, Iowa City Leaders don't necessarily agree.
"My grass is technically or what I would consider ornamental grasses and I think the spirit of the code was to keep people from just neglecting their property and not mowing," said Jeanne Hedges who says she's worked hard over the past decade to grow the native prairie grass on her property.
But a city inspector told her she had to cut it because it goes against the 10 inch high rule. In Monday night's city council meeting, members decided to hold a public hearing next month to decide if prairie grass is a nuisance or a garden.
