19-year-old Kendra Meaker made her first appearance in court Friday morning.
According to the Stark County Sheriff, Meaker confessed to the F.B.I. that she left her three week old baby in a ditch yesterday.
But before her alleged confession, Meaker had told police baby Mia had been abducted from her car at the post office, sparking an Amber Alert.
Baby Mia was found by volunteers around eight last night after they heard her crying.
Police said they found Mia, sun burnt and with leaves in her mouth,
She also had some small abrasions on the back of her head.
Baby Mia is still in the hospital, recovering.
We talked to the family who say they are overwhelmed by the community support.
"We cannot Thank you enough for all your prayers of support, and God bless you all. We really do appreciate it," said Sandy Hollings
Meaker is being charged with obstruction of justice and child endangerment.
She could face up to four years if convicted.
