A Whiteside County judge has denied accused spree killer Nicholas Sheley's request to dismiss his charges. Sheley wanted the charges dropped because he said the state is taking too long to try him.
The judge disagreed, ruling that most of the delays in the case have been due to Sheley himself, and that the current case could not begin until Sheley's first murder trial had finished.
Sheley is accused of murdering Russell Reed of Morrison. The trial is slated to begin with jury selection on October 22nd.
