Gas leak forces temporary evacuations at Augie

A gas lead forced a temporary evacuation of some buildings at Augustana College Wednesday afternoon.  A construction crew working on the new Student Life Center nicked a two inch gas line, rupturing it.

Students and staff were evacuated from nearby buildings while the Rock Island Fire Department responded.  The leak was soon shut off and life on campus went back to normal.
