Chief Justice Thomas Kilbride was named the Illinoisan of the year.
The Rock Island native got the honor from the Illinois News Broadcasters Association this weekend.
Kilbride is responsible for the initiative which allows cameras in Illinois courtrooms.
Kilbride thanked the I.N.B.A., and reminded them, he couldn't have done it alone.
He credited judges throughout the state for allowing cameras in courtrooms.
