Legislative forum on Illinois disability issues

Quad Citians with disabilities got a unique chance to talk directly to their state legislators about their needs tonight. A forum on Illinois disability issues was held at the iWireless Center in Moline. Legislative candidates also shared personal experiences they've had with people with disabilities. Organizer, Kyle Rick, says money is the main concern when it comes to a candidate. "Really funding is the key because without the resources there is no mission. We can't support people in the community without adequate funding." The event was held by The Arc of the Quad Cities Area and Speak Out. Both groups work to represent and assist those living with intellectual, developmental and other disabilities.
