One of Quad Cities largest employers is hiring. APAC, a customer service center near the Mount Joy airport, is expanding. The call center employs more than 1,000 workers in the QCA, and wants to hire 500 more before the end of the year.

Linda Hennes is just shy of 67 years old, and on Friday she became one of the newest customer service reps at APAC. Linda says she's looking forward to her first day on the job, "To supplement my income, but also to keep me busy, and to occupy my mind."

And it couldn't come at a better time, "With this economy, the way it is, times are tough," said Hennes.

Shannon Corley is the Senior Recruiter at APAC. She says already this week they've hired 60 new workers, "6000 square feet of call center that we've been able to add to this facility because of the growth we've seen."

Corley says the company wants to fill 500 empty seats and desks to keep up with the workload. New hires must go through up to five weeks of training, and Enrique Fearn, 18, is hoping to make the cut, "At least 20 hours a week would always give me the ability to pay the bills and provide for my son to the best of my ability."

If he gets the job, Enrique can count on MORE than 20 hours a week, because all 500 positions are full time.

Applicants must have at least 6 months customer service experience, and be at least18 years old, with a high school diploma or GED. If you would like to apply click on the link www.apacjob.com.
