Augustana students are prepared for bomb threats and emergencies.

"One of the most important things that we do to help ensure that students are ready for an emergency scenario is drills and we will actually be conducting a drill here relatively soon in the next few weeks," said Keri Rursch, the director of Public Relations at Augustana College.

On the school's website there's a list of what to do if a student or faculty member gets a bomb threat on the phone or in writing.

School leaders say the first step is to call 911 and then evacuate the area.

Augustana also works closely with the rock island police department.
