The school year is already underway and you may have noticed some new faces in the Moline school district.

Parents will get a chance to sit down and meet with Dr. Dave Moyer today.

The superintendent started back in July and says so far - it's been a smooth transition for the district.

"[We have] fended off any drastic budget reductions this year," says Moyer. "People won't notice a lot of noticeable impact in terms of class sizes or other types of things like that - it should be business as usual."

Moyer plans to revamp the district's vision for the future - focusing more on raising the bar for all students.

After renovations finished on Deere Middle School, Moyer says the district will have to decide the future of some of its older schools, such as Willard and Garfield.

"Certainly it has to be addressed and something will have to be done moving forward to address that," he adds.

The meet and greet will be at 3:30 p.m. today in the cafeteria at Wilson Middle School.
