It's almost time for the Taming of the Slough.
It's a triathlon in downtown Moline, but it's not your average race.
Instead of swimming, participants kayak or canoe in the sylvan slough, then bike off road on Sylvan Island, and finish the race in downtown Moline.
You can do it all yourself, or compete as a team.
Either way, organizers say it's a lot of fun.
"Registration is open through Friday; conditions are
perfect for kayaking and perfect for biking. The island is in great shape so
we're hoping to see everybody come out on Saturday morning, "said Dan McNeil of
River Action Partnership.
If you'd like to join the fun, the race starts this Saturday at 8 a.m. at the two rivers YMCA boathouse in Moline.
But you have to register before race day.
