A big vote on Tuesday for two school districts in rural Iowa.
Community members will cast their ballot on a possible merger between the East Central Schools in Miles and Sabulah and the Preston School District.
While a majority vote in this special election will decide the schools' future, district leaders say the details are still up in the air.
"Nothing is official. All that decision-making would lie in the hands of the new superintendent and administration if the vote passes. So as far as where a high school would be, where an elementary school would be - those are unknown," said Neil Gray, Superintendent of East Central Schools.
Polls open at 7am Tuesday at Community Hall in Preston, and the city halls in Sabula and Miles.
Polls close at 8 pm.
