The Bettendorf Police Department is looking to add some younger members to the force.
Folks ages 14 through 21 went to recruitment night for the Police Explorers Program.
From firearms training to ride-a-longs, program participants learn the ropes, so they can decide if law enforcement is the right career for them.
"We train them with everything we learn here at the Police department with being a police officer so they really get a good feel if this is something they are going to like or not," said Sara Stolley, Bettendorf Police.
Officers say many times, explorers become Q.C. police officers or join the military.
That meeting was at 6 p.m. Monday night at the Bettendorf police station.
