Leclaire man severly injured after rollover crash

A Leclaire man is in serious condition tonight after a roll over crash in Scott County.

Deputies say just before eleven last night ... 73 year old Michael Bewley was driving on highway 67 near Leclaire when he lost control of his car, ran off the road, hit a tree, and then flipped over.

As soon as the car crashed deputies say witnesses stopped to help.

"Witnesses ran up to the vehicle, realized somebody was inside trapped. The citizens actually rolled the vehicle over to try to attend to the injuries they could until medical personnel arrived," said Sean Thompson of the Scott County Sheriff's Dept.

Crews had to use the jaws of life to free Bewley. The crash is still under investigation.
