One in four women will experience domestic violence in her life.

Christian care is trying to make that statistic history, and today they had a walk to raise money for their organization.

The third annual "Walk to Walk," was at Prospect Park in Moline this morning and afternoon.

After the walk there was a festival that included martial arts and Zumba classes, arts and crafts, and a silent auction.

The big message was to raise awareness about Christian Care's shelter and support for victims.

"So it's events like this that offer us to come out and support the victims of domestic violence, the survivors, those who didn't survive we're honoring them as well," said Rebecca Wheeler, in charge of marketing and events at Christian Care.

Organizers say 88 cents to the dollar will go directly to programs benefiting victims of domestic abuse.
