Could Jeff Terronez get his law license back?

Jeff Terronez could be practicing law again in the next few years.

At a hearing today the Illinois Attorney Registration and Disciplinary Commission, recommended Terronez's law license be suspended for two years.

"Because of the unique nature of the case, there's no precedent that's really right on point so the administration is arguing more from the point of view policy and who he was and the role he served," said Jim Grogan, lawyer with the ARDC.

The former Rock Island County States Attorney resigned last year for giving alcohol to a minor.

The decision is ultimately up to the Supreme Court.

A ruling may not be made until after the first of the year.
