Secretary of State Matt Schultz believes as many as 180 people in Scott County voted illegally in the 2010 election. Tuesday, Scott County Auditor, Roxanna Moritz went before the Board of Supervisors to explain the situation. Moritz says that it could just be a data error and duplicate names, but it's her job to check it out. "I think we need to assure the public that Scott County runs good elections with integrity and we're known as a county and a state to the national that we have never had this type of thing happen in Iowa" She said her office is still waiting on names from the Secretary of State, but once it gets them the investigation will be in full swing. By law, the voting records are required to be destroyed after 22 months. That deadline is just three weeks away. A subpoena has been requested to delay the deadline.
