The burn ban that has been in place for some communities on the Illinois side of the Mississippi will be dropped on Wednesday.
The areas of Cordova, Barstow, Hillsdale, Port Byron, and Rapids City, Illinois have now gotten enough rain that firefighters think it's safe to burn openly.
Area departments caution that while conditions are not as dry as they had been, burns should still be monitored carefully.
