Burlington Police have released more information about the death of a woman found Thursday morning.  The victim has been identified as Crystal Marie Newman.

Newman was found after police were called to do a welfare check at a home in the 800 block of South 8th Street.  A gun and ammunition were found at the scene and Newman did have a gunshot wound, but officials have not determined yet if the gunshot caused her death.

The investigation is ongoing.
