A former police officer from Colorado wants to legalize marijuana. Tony Ryan served 36 years in Denver, before retiring in 2003. He now serves on LEAP, the Law Enforcement Against Prohibition. Speaking at the Central Perk Coffee House in downtown Davenport, he explained why he believes the U.S. should legalize drugs, especially marijuana. He says the price on the war on drugs, not only for police but for citizens is just too high, and officer's time and tax payers money is better spent elsewhere.
