James Holmes, the suspect accused of killing 12 people and injuring dozens of others in a Colorado movie theater, appeared before a judge today.
Holmes listened to the judge read off the crimes he is being investigated in connection with. At times, he squeezed his eyes shut tightly. He did not speak.
The prosecution asked for more time to file charges against Holmes, and the judge granted that motion. Normally, charges must be filed within 72 hours of the time a crime was committed.
Holmes was taken back into custody. He's being held in solitary confinement.
The public defenders currently representing Holmes may have access to the movie theater tomorrow. Police are wrapping up their investigation at the theater today.
