Fort Madison Business destroyed by fire

A well-known business in Fort Madison Iowa goes up in flames overnight.

Firefighters responded to Tri State Furniture and Appliance on 504 Avenue G around 4 a.m. Sunday.

Crews tell us it took several hours to put out the fire.

Store Owner Tom Pollpeter said the two story building is completely destroyed.

The business has been in his family for 3 generations.
