Deedee Collins Honored with Woodbridge Award at Annual NCMS Seminar
Chantilly, Virginia (PRWEB) June 12, 2012
Deborah Russell Collins, Executive Vice President of Special Aerospace Security Services, Inc. (SASSI), was honored with the 2012 Donald B. Woodbridge Award for Excellence at the annual NCMS Seminar at Walt Disney’s Yacht and Beach Club Resorts in Orlando today.
Deedee is the 4th woman and youngest recipient of the award since its inception in 1979. Working tirelessly in the industrial security field for over 32 years has allowed Deedee to take some time to reflect on how she balances day-to-day life. “I try to live by honoring God, serving my family and then attending to my work; however, each gets their full and undivided attention when it is their turn,” stated Collins. “I can honestly say I could never imagine being a recipient of this distinguished award. It would definitely not be possible without all the dedicated, professional staff we have here at SASSI/NSTI,” stated Collins.
The award is named after Donald B. Woodbridge to recognize persons and organizations who have dedicated significant efforts to enhancing the field of Industrial Security. “Thousands of NCMS members have benefited from Deedee’s amazing programs. We recognize and commend Deedee for her efforts and dedication,” stated current President of NCMS Tony Ingenito. NCMS is recognized throughout the defense industry and government as the premier organization for helping its members achieve the most challenging goals in the area of industrial security.
As a former President of NCMS, Deedee also knows the value and impact it takes to receive such an award. She is being honored for her contributions to industrial security through her leadership, support of consistency throughout the government, inclusion of industry in policy decisions and support of NCMS.
This is not the first time Deedee has been given an award in the national security spotlight. In 2006, Deedee was awarded the Lonnie R. Buckels Presidential Award for her sustained superb support to the industrial security community and NCMS.
Since 1988, SASSI has been providing professional security training in support of Department of Defense and the Intelligence Community, working vigorously to be the preeminent, professional government security training company in the United States. The National Security Training Institute (NSTI), the industrial security training arm of SASSI, is dedicated to the development and delivery of security training and professional development for security practitioners who support the Intelligence and Department of Defense communities.
