Travis MichelsMeteorologist Travis Michels joined the CBS4 News weather team in September 2011. Travis was born and raised on the east coast, specifically in Felton, DE. In fact, it was the variety of weather he experienced on the Delmarva Peninsula that caused him to pursue a degree in meteorology.
He earned a degree in meteorology from California University of Pennsylvania and, while in college, interned at WMDT47 in Salisbury, MD and joined them as a weekend meteorologist following his graduation in 2009.
Travis is happy to be in the Midwest and is anxious to experience the range of weather we have here. He says it's the perfect place for him to continue his broadcast career.
When Travis is not in the station you may find him running, riding his bike or going for a swim. He has also been known to participate in the extreme sport of skydiving!
