(AP) - Another Illinois college quarterback has made All-American. Jimmy Garoppolo (guh-RAHP'-uh-loh) of Eastern Illinois University is on The Associated Press FCS All-America team. He passed for more than 5,000 yards and 53 touchdowns in leading the Panthers to the quarterfinals of the FCS playoffs.
MURRAY, Ky. (AP) - A video of Southern Illinois University basketball coach Barry Hinson's postgame news conference is going viral. Hinson declared after Tuesday night's 73-65 loss at Murray State that his players are -- as he put it -- "a bunch of mama's boys." The Salukis are 2-8 and have defeated only one Division One opponent this season.
HOUSTON (AP) - The slumping Chicago Bulls begin a two-game road trip in Houston Wednesday night. The Bulls have lost two straight games and seven of their last ten and have averaged less than 80 points over their last six games. The Rockets have won eight of their last nine games at home.
MONTREAL (AP) - Ex-Chicago Fire coach Frank Klopas (KLOH'-pahs) has landed a new job in Major League Soccer. He's been hired as the new coach of the Montreal Impact. Klopas helped the Fire win an MLS Cup as a player in 1998 and coached the team for three seasons.
