Marissa Pendergrass joined the CBS4 news team in June 2010. She came to CBS4 from WCVB-TV in Needham, Massachusetts where she worked as an assignment editor. She attended Emerson College in Boston, MA and graduated with an MA in broadcast journalism.
In Boston, Marissa covered two town hall meetings with President Barack Obama and the 2010 Senate Race in Massachusetts as a political reporter for WEBN News. Marissa also covered the 2010 Vancouver Olympics and interviewed many professional snowboard, bobsled and alpine ski athletes.
Marissa is a Southern California native. But rural communities are no mystery to her. She has been on many road trips through Central California, one of world's largest agricultural regions.
Marissa has dreamed of becoming a local TV news reporter since elementary school. Marissa graduated with a BA in speech communications and minored in journalism at California State University, Long Beach. She was also on the nationally acclaimed Long Beach State Dance Team.
Marissa is very proud to be following her dreams in the Quad Cities. When she isn't working, she loves to be with her family and friends. She spends her time cooking, vintage shopping and playing with her lovable cat named Rigby.
