Elliott Polakoff joined the CBS4 News team in September 2013 as the Weekend Sports Anchor. With so many professional, collegiate, and high school teams in the Quad Cities, he's excited to get to cover it all! Prior to arriving at WHBF, Elliott covered UC-Berkeley athletics for Fox Sports Next.
Elliott loves interacting with local communities, and thinks there's no better way to do that than talking about sports! Originally from the Bay Area, he's been an associate producer and on-air personality for KNBR Sports Radio, as well as a sports intern and production assistant at KPIX CBS 5 in San Francisco. He graduated from the University of Michigan (Sorry Hawkeye fans!) with a BA in Communication Studies, and received his Master's Degree in Broadcast Journalism from the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University.
While at Syracuse, Elliott did radio play-by-play for the Syracuse Stampede Junior Hockey Team. He also helped produce live sporting events for Time Warner Cable Sports, and was a producer for ABC affiliate WSYR.
Elliott loves being able to report on athletes doing big things both on and off the field. If he's not working on a story or shooting highlights at a game, you can probably find Elliott and his awkward (but effective) two-hand jump shot at a local pick-up basketball game, at one of the many great restaurants in the Quad Cities, or at a karaoke bar belting some Marvin Gaye.
