  • Phil Parker, defensive backfield coach at the University of Iowa the past 13 seasons, has been named defensive coordinator.  In addition, Darrell Wilson and Reese Morgan will take over new assignments on the Hawkeye coaching staff.  The announcement was made Tuesday February 7 by head football coach Kirk Ferentz.

  • Strong performances all around helped the Augustana men's team stay in the top three in the nation in the NCAA Division I  track and field dual meet rankings.
  • Augustana and head football coach Rob Cushman have announced the addition of Anthony Scott as the Vikings' new offensive line coach. Scott comes to Augustana from St. Augustine's College in Raleigh, North Carolina, where he held the same position.

  • Former University of Iowa offensive coordinator Ken O'Keefe resigned from the Hawkeyes to accept another coaching opportunity. That other opportunity has become clear. O'Keefe is onto the NFL where he has been hired by the Miami Dolphins as the wide receivers coach, the Dolphins announced on Feb. 4.
  • Ken O'Keefe, offensive coordinator at the University of Iowa for the past 13 seasons, has resigned from the Hawkeye coaching staff to accept another coaching opportunity.  The announcement came Friday from head coach Kirk Ferentz.  
  • Quad City Mallards winger Brandon Marino has been named Oakley Central Hockey League First Star for the month of January, the Mallards announced in conjunction with the CHL.  
  • Zach Grant, the nation's leading high school receiver in 2011, committed to St. Ambrose University and will join the Fighting Bee football program in the fall 2012. 
  • Aaron Kampman, an Iowa native and All-Pro defensive end and linebacker for the Jacksonville Jaguars is the 2012 Robert D. Ray Pillar of Character Award recipient.

  • The Iowa Barnstormers will battle the Chicago Rush in at the i wireless Center on Saturday, February 25 at 7 pm.  Tickets go on sale Saturday, January 28 at 10 am.
