A storage facility in Savanna, Illinois is now nothing but a pile of rubble. A massive fire began there around 10:00 on Monday night, destroying everything from classic cars to precious family pictures. More than ten different fire departments battled the blaze at Riverside Storage, which is near Route 84, well into the morning. At a time when many schools are cutting back, one local district is doing the opposite. The West Burlington Independent School District is making major upgrades to its sports facilities. The school has already started construction on a new multi-purpose facility, which will house a wrestling room, weight room, and batting cages.
