The plan to move the Rock Island Casino will go before the Illinois Gaming Board on Wednesday.
The Illinois House and Representatives and the Senate have already passed Casino Rock Island's proposal to build a new hotel and casino. Now it is up to the gaming board for the plans to go through.
If the gaming board decides against the move then the project officials will have to start from scratch. That means they have to convince the gaming board that the project will help the community. But if it passes, Senator Mike Jacobs says the project will take about a year and a half to complete and cost about 90 million dollars.
"The gaming board should look to the law and we gave them the right to do the project," says Senator Jacobs. "Now the gaming board has the obligation in my mind to do what's right for the community and this is right for the community. It's going to allow us to provide more dollars rather than less."
Regardless of if the gaming board sides in favor of the move Governor Rod Blagojevich will come here to sign the bill.
