The restructuring of a major airline will leave some Quad Citians without a ride to Chicago come January.
The A-T-A has officially announced that it will discontinue service to Chicago's Midway Airport from the Quad Cities. The company has filed for chapter eleven back in October and Southwest Airlines just bought six of A-T-A's gates at Chicago's Midway Airport. A-T-A will stop service from the Quad Cities January 9th.
Quad City Airport spokesperson, Bruce Carter says the airline will be missed.
"They provided a great service to our passengers," says Carter. "They provided great low-fare structure and that's why we've had ten record months out of eleven."
A-T-A brought nearly 30,000 passengers through the Quad City Airport this year on four daily flights to Midway Airport. But now local travelers can only fly to O'hare.
If you're flying on A-T-A through January 8th. then your flight will to be interrupted. For any flights after that date or if you need information you can contact the A-T-A at 1 800 435 9282 or you can go to the Quad City International Airport web site.
