PARK RIDGE, Ill. (AP) - A 16-year-old northern Illinois boy has died after a skateboarding accident in which he was reportedly being pulled by a car.
Alexander Baer died Thursday at Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge, two days after the accident.
Authorities say it appears that Baer was on his skateboard being pulled by a rope that was attached to a vehicle when the accident happened.
Fire officials say Baer was a short distance from his home in unincorporated McHenry County. He was a student at McHenry East High School.
The accident remains under investigation.
